Dr. Lowenstein grew up in Israel and the Five Towns. She graduated from Queens College and received her medical degree in 1995 from New York University, where she also earned her Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology. She completed her medical internship at Long Island Jewish Hospital in 1996 and her dermatology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in 1999. She serves as an assistant clinical professor at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where she teaches dermatology residents and is involved in their research program. She is fluent in Hebrew, German and medical Spanish.
