Aevan McLaughlin, MD, joined the Department of Specialty Care - General Surgery and Weight Management in September 2018. She completed her residency in General Surgery at Rhode Island Hospital with Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, RI, after obtaining her doctorate at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. McLaughlin recently became certified as an MBSAQIP verified surgeon within her Weight Management program. During her undergraduate education, she received her BS in Neuroscience at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. Dr. McLaughlin brings knowledge and compassion to the team, making her an asset to patients facing a broad range of health challenges. Aevan and her team worked to ensure that the Knox Community Hospital Center for Weight Management became an accredited Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program®. Their commitment to quality care begins with expertly trained staff and the leadership of an experienced bariatric surgeon.
