Brief Intro

I am a Mayo Clinic trained Family Physician in Eastern Montana. I believe in the "Old West" Cowboy Ethic. I have just started, 1/2/15, a new solo practice in Glendive, MT. I used to work for the local hospital for 3 plus years, and I met some of the most wonderful people working there and as my patients. Thru their encouragement, I decided to stay in Glendive, open a practice and make Glendive my home. While at Glendive Medical Center, I was the Chief Safety and Quality Officer, and had to attend many committee meetings, like the Ethics, Safety, Board of Directors Quality, and Hospice committees. I practiced as a Family Physician in the out patient setting and the After Hours Urgent Care Clinic. I have had way too many patients that I oversaw their care while on Hospice. The Hospice does a wonderful job of caring for those in our community, and their families, that are living their last days because of a cancer or an end stage disease. I enjoy Sports Medicine, and am found on the sidelines for every home game for the local High School football team, The Red Devils. They are a great group of young men. I am still looking for a small piece of land for a hobby type ranch. It is getting difficult to find, because the oil boom has inflated everything here. Land that used to go for $400 an acre, now sellers are asking upwards of $4,000-$10,000 and acre. I feel hopeful that one day I will fulfill that dream of a small ranch. Many of my patients are elderly. I was the Medical Director for the Eastern Montana Veterans Home. I really love seeing them and spending time in a "visit with them", where we just enjoy each other's company. They trust me and I will do everything I can to make sure that trust is true. The little children are very special in this area and special to me. I get a big kick out of them. One came in wearing her "Doc McStuffins" doctor coat with her stethoscope, and when I finished examining her, she told me to get up on the table, and then preceded to examine me. Her Mom and Dad were proud of their 4 year old who wants to become a doctor, as I am. When I asked her what I needed, she said, You need a Hug"........That is payment in full for what I do and why I love being a doctor.
