Dr. Skyhar is fellowship-trained in sports medicine. He is currently a physician at CORE Orthopaedic Medical Center, where the philosophy of treatment is defined as comprehensive operative and non-operative care of orthopaedic injuries and disorders. Dr. Skyhar attended medical school at Oregon Health Sciences University and completed his residency in 1987 at the University of California San Diego Medical Center. His sports medicine fellowship training was completed in 1988 at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Scripps Ximed Medical Group, and the California Medical Association. Formerly the Chief of Medical Staff at Scripps Encinitas, Dr. Skyhar remains active in the community. He currently serves as Team Physician for Palomar College. He has published and presented numerous articles about sports medicine injuries.
