Prior to his role at ProMedica, Dr. Hammerling served as senior vice president of medical affairs at the Toledo Hospital, where he provided executive leadership for the development and implementation of the hospital's quality improvement plan. He also provided direct support to the medical staff for the credentialing and peer review processes at Toledo Hospital. While at Toledo Hospital, he was responsible for implementation of medical staff integration initiatives following a two-hospital merger, including joint credentialing, quality improvement, and medical staff integration activities. He also provided executive oversight for the two family practice residency programs, including practice operations and faculty recruitment.
