Dr. Joseph R. Howard Dr. Howard began his career in the Danbury area in 2008. He attended Rutgers University, New Brunswick for his undergraduate degree in Biology and then went on to dental school at New York University College of Dentistry. Dr. Howard also obtained a medical degree from The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He did his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. During residency he excelled in all areas of the specialty including anesthesia, dentoalveolar surgery including implants and bone grafting, orthognathic surgery, trauma surgery, pathology and TMJ. Dr. Howard is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Medical Association, American Dental Association , the Connecticut Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Connecticut Dental Association and many other national, state and local organizations. He is on active staff at Danbury and New MilfordHospitals, and also is an attending for the Danbury Hospital General Dentistry residency. Every year Dr. Howard attends multiple seminars and conferences dealing with all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including orthognathic surgery, implants and bone grafting.
