Dr. Oas received his BSE in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) in 1982. He attended the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and received his MD in 1986. He completed his medicine internship at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center of Boston in 1987 and his Neurology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1990. He also worked at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston during his undergraduate, medical school and residency training years on microgravity biomedical research projects. He completed his fellowship training in Neuro-Otology with Robert W. Baloh, MD at the UCLA Medical Center in 1992. He served as a Consultant Otoneurologist and the Medical Director of the Vestibular Laboratory at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary at Harvard Medical School (1992-97); the Director of the Program for Vestibular & Balance Disorders in the Departments of Otolaryngology and Neurology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (1998-2004); and the private practice of Otoneurology in Solon, Ohio (2005-2009) where he developed new protocols for the rehabilitation of chronic vestibular disorders.
