Jeffrey Rasch D.O. moved to Bozeman in August of 2008 to join the Alpine Orthopedics Team after 5 years in Salt Lake City, UT. Originally from St. Louis MO, Dr. Rasch took an unusual path to medicine. After completing high school Dr. Rasch put his studies on hold to pursue his goal of becoming a professional cyclist and competing in the Tour De France. He raced and lived in Europe from 1986-1992. During the 1993 season he accomplished his goal, racing as a professional cyclist.
At the end of the 1993 cycling season he decided to pursue his education and moved to Flagstaff AZ, where he enrolled in pre-medical studies at Northern Arizona University. He received his Doctor of Osteopathy from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, the original osteopathic medical school. He completed a residency in family medicine and a primary care sports medicine fellowship at the University of Utah.
During his fellowship training Dr. Rasch gained extensive experience in treating a variety of orthopedic complaints. He worked at Park City Mountain Resort ski clinic treating many acute skiing injuries. He provided medical coverage for everything from local high school and University of Utah sports to marathons and community sporting events. He enjoys providing non-surgical treatment to a wide variety of orthopedic injuries with an emphasis on treating spine pain. He brings an osteopathic approach to the treatment of back pain. He also provides x-ray guided injections into the lumbar spine, hips and sacroiliac joint.
Dr. Rasch lives in Bozeman with his wife Jeanne and his two sons Rory and Liam. He is still an avid cyclist and has added Nordic skiing to his passions since moving to Bozeman.
