Brief Intro

Dr. James D. Stern, M.D. F.A.C.S, grew up outside of Pittsburgh, PA. After high school, he entered the prestigious six year combined Medical Education Program at Boston University earning a BA/MD degree with honors. After general surgical training, Dr. Stern did plastic surgery in London England at Mount Vernon Hospital and at Temple University Health Science Center in Philadelphia, PA. He then completed a fellowship in cosmetic plastic surgery with the internationally renowned plastic surgeons, Thomas Baker and Howard Gordon, in Miami, FL. Dr. Stern has been in continuous private practice in Hollywood, FL since finishing his training in 1995. He holds several leadership positions in the community and is currently the Chief of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, FL. He is a past president of the Broward County Society of Plastic Surgery and a long-standing member of the Southeastern and American Societies of Plastic Surgery. Hes a member of the Clinical Faculty of the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, FL Dr. Sterns personal philosophy is that in order to achieve great results, a surgeon must listen to the patients desires and goals and together they must formulate a personalized surgical plan. Realistic expectations on the part of well-informed patients lead to satisfying results. Dr. Stern and the entire staff at the Physicians Institute of Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery strive to pre-operatively educate our patients about their chosen procedures, thus optimizing the potential for their satisfaction.
