As a physician, my philosophy is to individualize treatment for each patient. At the heart of this is to ensure every patient is educated on all their options and is able to make an informed decision. As the hand and upper extremity is critical to many activities, I understand the everyday difficulties that patients encounter with these problems. I have a conservative approach to treatment and try to maximize nonoperative treatments before consideration of surgery.
I earned my medical degree from the University of Queensland - Ochsner Clinical School in Brisbane, Australia and New Orleans, where I also completed my residency. I then completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh.
I am a board-eligible orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in the hand and upper extremity. I have been part of several research projects to help improve the field of orthopedics. The project that I have been most passionate about thus far has been a pathway to help optimize physical therapy, medications, and patient outcomes after surgery. I am currently a candidate member of the American Society for Hand Surgery and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and trying different foods. My favorite destination so far has been Indonesia because of its amazing beaches, friendly people, and most importantly, delicious food.
