Daniel John Mazanec, MD, is Department Chairman of the Spine Center at Cleveland Clinic, a position he has held since 1991. He is also a Staff member in the Department of General Internal Medicine and the Department of Rheumatic and Immunologic Disease at Cleveland Clinic. Board-certified in internal medicine with a subspecialty in rheumatology, Dr. Mazanec's clinical interests are evaluation and management of back pain, osteoporosis and bone disease and adult rheumatology. A frequent lecturer at national and international meetings, Dr. Mazanec has authored more than 40 articles, book chapters and textbooks.
