Dr. Upadhyay earned his medical degree from the University of Delhi in India, where he also completed a residency in orthopedics. He followed with a residency in the UK leading up to a membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, Scotland before an orthopedic residency at the University of Illinois Chicago. He later completed a fellowship in spinal surgery at the Leatherman Spine Center and Kosair Children’s Hospital at the University of Louisville. He has trained under both Orthopedic and Neurological Spine surgeons throughout his career.
