Brief Intro

Dr. Nichols attended and graduated from Yale College in New Haven, Connecticut. He went on to study medicine at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. He completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center where he also completed a cardiology fellowship. Dr. Nichols went on to become a clinical and research fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. For ten years he taught cardiology and cardiac catheterization at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, where he was an assistant professor and associate professor of clinical medicine. Dr. Nichols is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology. He is a published researcher and won the Byrd S. Leavell Research Award and the Investigator Award of the New York Heart Association. He is currently a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Council on Clinical Cardiology.He is an active member in the Virginia Medical Society and the Newport News Medical Society.
