Dr. Alan K. David joined the Medical College in 1998 as Department Chair. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. His clinical and teaching interests include patients of all ages and the doctor-patient relationship, anemia, depression, and asthma. In 1997 he was the Ohio Family Physicians' nominee for the national American Academy of Family Practice teaching award. Dr. David was listed in the August 2000 Town & Country magazine 'Guide to Outstanding Primary Care Physicians in the US', which based its rating on rigorous review of credentials as well as physician responses to the question "Who would you refer a relative to?" He has been on the listing of "Best Doctors in America" since 2005. A past president of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, Dr. David has served as chairman of the society's long-range planning committee and facilitated the organizations strategic plan. He was a member of the Future of Family Medicine Initiative which is examining future directions for family medicine.
