W. Vincent Burke, M.D., board certified in orthopedic surgery, specializes in hip and knee replacement, including complex primary surgeries as well as revision of failed hip and knee replacements. Dr. Burke is also a medical director of orthopedic surgery at Broward General Medical Center.
Before beginning his surgical practice at Broward General, Dr. Burke served as Assistant Professor of Clinical Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation and also Director, Joint Replacement and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Miami, Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, Miami, Florida.
A native of Ohio, Dr. Burke received his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and received his medical degree from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
He completed both an internship and orthopaedic surgical residency at the University of Miami/ Jackson Memorial Medical Center. Following residency, Dr. Burke received advanced training in hip and knee replacements as a Fellow in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the renowned Anderson Orthopaedic Research Institute in Alexandria, Virginia.
Dr. Burke is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and has been published in numerous books and medical journals. Dr. Burke has lectured nationally and internationally on many topics regarding joint replacement. He continues to be involved in the development of implants, instrumentation, and advanced surgical techniques to promote longer lasting joint replacements and more rapid surgical recovery.
Dr. Burke has been a resident of South Florida for 10 years, is an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with his family.
