Brief Intro

Thomas F. Kaineg DDS MS Dr. Thomas F. Kaineg has proudly served the Pinellas community for more than 30 years. During that time he has been active in the Pinellas County Dental Association, serving as the president in 2000 as well as chairman of the Children’s Dental Health program for more than ten years. Other community activities included membership in the Seminole Lake Rotary Club for more than 20 years. As an orthodontic consultant for the All Children’s Hospital Cleft Palate Team, Dr. Kaineg traveled to Russia and Peru on missions as part of a medical team to treat facial cleft patients. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Florida Association of Orthodontists and Florida Dental Association. His research has been published in medical literature in the United States as well as Europe. Dr. Kaineg grew up in rural Illinois but moved to Florida after serving in the military at Eglin Air Force Base. He attended the University of Illinois Dental School and graduated with the highest scholastic average and received numerous clinical awards. Dr. Kaineg completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Chicago. His orthodontic research has been published in journals in Europe and the United States. The Kaineg family includes his wife Susan, who has been a high school guidance counselor and department chairman at Seminole High School as well as other area high schools. Dr. Kaineg’s two adult children, Brian and Kristin, graduated from Seminole High School and are presently living out of the state. Brian is a neuroradiologist in Atlanta and Kristin is a college professor in the Washington D.C. area. The family also includes two challenging Portuguese water dogs, Buc and Nemo. Dr. Kaineg’s hobbies include fishing, skiing, tennis and scuba diving. He also enjoys high-tech movie editing and photography. The dogs fit right into the family activities, which are centered on the water.
