Dr. Lucktong, a University of Virginia medical graduate, completed his surgical residency at Allegheny General Hospital. He specialized in complex laparoscopic and robotic surgery upon joining Carilion in 2002. He led the Bariatric Surgery program from 2005 to 2016, achieving multiple certifications. Recognized for his contributions, he received awards like Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Faculty Award and Clinical Educator of the Year. With a commitment to education, he directed the surgery student Clerkship and became a Gold Humanism Honor Societies inductee. Dr. Lucktong's career boasts scholarly publications, chapters, and presentations. Now, as Co-Director of Surgical Quality, he focuses on enhancing patient care at Carilion Clinic.
