Brief Intro

Founded in 1994 Lawrence Plastic Surgery has grown steadily over the years. Initially we attracted patients primarily from the Lawrence and Topeka area but as our reputation for quality care in a comfortable setting grew we now attract patients from a much broader area. In the past 21 years we have treated over 16,000 patients from 35 states and 7 different countries! Dr. Thellman received his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed residencies in General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and a burn fellowship at Vanderbilt University. Following these 8 years of surgical residency he returned to his home state of Kansas to establish the first plastic surgery practice in Lawrence. Over the years he and his staff have made numerous presentations on subjects such as breast reconstruction, breast reduction, cosmetic procedures of the body and face, and patient safety at the local, state, and national level. We focus primarily on breast surgery, body contouring, facial cosmetic surgery, and skin cancer. Many of our procedures can be performed in our well equipped procedure rooms under a local anesthetic with minimal down time. Operating room procedures are performed at the Lawrence Surgery Center adjacent to our office or at nearby Lawrence Memorial Hospital. We pride ourselves on our friendly,caring atmosphere and an experienced staff, most with 10-20 years experience in our office. Whether for an aesthetic skin treatment or major reconstructive procedure, we'll give you the care you deserve.
