Dr. Gottenger is a plastic surgeon at Miami Children's Hospital. A graduate of Universidad Central de Venezuela School of Medicine, he completed his residency in general surgery at Miguel PArez CarreAo Hospital in Caracas, Venezuela, as well as at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami. Dr. Gottenger also completed a residency in plastic surgery at the Dr. Carlos Arvelo Hospital in Caracas, Venezuela, as well as at Ohio State University. Dr. Gottenger has completed numerous fellowships, including a microsurgery fellowship at Eastern Virginia Medical School and a craniofacial fellowship at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Gottenger has published numerous articles and chapters in selected books, and has lectured extensively between the United States and South America. In addition, Dr. Gottenger is also a volunteer with Operation Smile International, traveling to almost 20 countries performing surgeries to repair congenital and traumatic deformities in children.
