Brief Intro

Dr. Nader Moinfar is an ophthalmologist specializing in diseases of the retina, vitreous and macula, including inflammation and uveitits. He sees patients at multiple locations in central Florida and has been providing adult and pediatric vitreoretinal care since 2000. The oldest of 2 sons, Dr. Moinfar was raised right outside Washington DC, in Fairfax county of Northern Virginia. Staying in the area for college, Dr. Moinfar attended Georgetown University in Washington DC for his undergrad, and then the Medical College of Virginia for his medical degree. Dr. Moinfar had developed a passion for ophthalmology and after finishing his internship and residency again at Georgetown, he completed his fellowship in Vitreoretinal Disease and Surgery at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. He settled in Florida and began practicing in Orlando for a few years, before joining Florida Retina Consultants, the practice he is at now. He went back to school and earned his Masters in Public Health Degree at Johns Hopkins University. Currently, he is the Chief of Ophthalmology at Lakeland Regional Medical Center and the Vice Chair of Ophthalmology at Orlando Regional Healthcare system. Dr. Moinfar is married to his wife Brenda, and together they are raising 3 sons, ranging in ages 5-11 years. He and his wife enjoy reading, hiking and spending time with family. Dr. Moinfar also enjoys weight training and running, and has participated in multiple marathons including the Chicago marathon and the Disney marathon.
