My name is Miqi "Mimi" Wang, MD, and I am a clinical assistant professor with a focus in foot and ankle in the University of Florida Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. I earned my medical degree from the University of South Florida with a scholarly concentration in biomedical research. Following medical school, I completed my residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont, and my fellowship in foot and ankle at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.I became interested in orthopaedic surgery because I enjoy using mechanics to improve the quality of life of my patients. During my residency, I learned about the complexities of the foot and ankle region, and I also learned that injuries and deformities of this region are extremely debilitating. As a physician, I strive to take care of my patients, advance my knowledge in orthopaedics through research and educate others to help build a solid foundation for the next generation of surgeons. My clinical interests include bunions, hammertoes, neuromas, flatfoot, high arches, ankle instability and other deformities, degenerations and injuries to the bones, joints, tendons and ligaments of the foot and ankle. I also have specific training and interest in ankle replacements, revision ankle replacements, and foot and ankle reconstruction using 3D-printed implants.Outside of medicine, I enjoy gardening, fishing and cooking what I grow and catch.
