Michael D. Slomka, M.D., was born in New City, New York, and was educated at Union College, Schenectady, New York, and at Georgetown University Medical School in Washington, D.C. He interned at the V.A. Hospital in Washington, D.C. and completed his Residency in Orthopaedics at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson, New Jersey. Dr. Slomka served as a Lieutenant Commander at the U.S. Naval Hospital and Aerospace Medical Center in Pensacola, Florida.
He is a member of the Pinellas County Medical Society, the Florida Orthopaedic Society, the American Medical Association, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a past Chief of Staff at St. Petersburg General Hospital. He served as Medical Staff Secretary and Chairman of the governing board of Palms of Pasadena Hospital. Dr. Slomka is also a charter member and Fellow of the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians and sat on the national steering committee for that association.
Dr. Slomka has been practicing in Pinellas County since 1974. He and his wife, Sandy, live in St. Petersburg and have three adult children and eight grandchildren.
