Dr. Leynard Martinez is a primary care family medicine physician. He is originally from Manila, the Philippines where he is a graduate of the Royal and Pontifical University of Santo Tomas. There he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy, after which he went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. He then attended Saint Louis University in Missouri for extensive residency training in family medicine. After his training, Dr. Martinez spent 18 years as a board-certified family medicine doctor, providing excellent primary care to patients of all ages in Rockford, Illinois.There he established strong patient and doctor relationships based on trust, respect, compassion, and empathy. He takes time, keeps an open mind, and listens well to patient concerns.He strongly believes disease prevention based on a healthy lifestyle and timely intervention is key to longevity and quality of life. He also believes in a holistic and evidence-based approach to disease management and cure. Care decisions are always made with patients after careful consideration of all possible options and the best outcomes.He is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Medical Association.
