Brief Intro

Leonard Korn, MD graduated from Union College in 1964 and the University of Chicago School of Medicine in 1968. His internship and first year psychiatry residency were at Maine Medical Center, Portland, ME. Dr. Korn completed his second and third year psychiatry residency at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI in 1972. Dr. Korn has been on the medical staff of Portsmouth Regional Hospital since he came to Portsmouth in early 1974. He served as chair of the first Section of Psychiatry at PRH. For many years he was a member of PRH Ethics Committee, including five years as Chair. He has been in private practice in Portsmouth since 1975. He has been Board Certified in General Psychiatry since 1977, and Board Certified in Forensic Psychiatry from 1999-2009. Since 2003 Dr. Korn has served on the Executive Council of the New Hampshire Psychiatric Society, including serving as President from 2007-2011. He is also a member of the Executive Council of the New Hampshire Medical Society. Dr. Korn's clinical practice includes all ages and the full range of psychiatric disorders. He sees children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. His specialty is Forensic Psychiatry. His research interests include the issue of communication between therapists, psychiatrists and other physicians, ethics in medicine and bullying in our schools.
