Brief Intro

Kerry H. King M.D. Board Certified, Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology Fellow, American College of Physicians Fellow, American College of Gastroenterology Fellow, American Gastroenterological Association A third generation physician, Dr. King graduated with honors from the University of Florida and received his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Following his internship and residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Dr. King completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Cincinnati. While there, he received the "Golden Apple" house staff teaching award. Dr. King is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Physicians, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has published a number of articles in medical journals and was voted by his peers as one of Gwinnett%u2019s Best Doctors in 2006. He was named a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association in 2010 for his accomplishments and contributions to the field of gastroenterology. Dr. King treats patients with a wide variety of gastrointestinal diseases and has a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), GERD and Barrett's esophagus, pancreatico-biliary disorders, as well as hepatitis B and C. In addition to performing colon cancer screenings and hemorrhoid banding, he is experienced in several advanced therapeutic procedures including radiofrequency ablation for Barrett's esophagus (HALO procedure) and ERCP. Dr. King volunteers for a number of community medical clinics and has served on several overseas medical mission trips. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine. He first joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2000.
