Dr. Martin specializes in orthopedic surgery, and particularly in treatment of shoulder, knee, and sports injuries.
Knee replacement and arthroscopic surgeries are his primary focus; he has performed over 15,000 knee surgeries.
A native of Rison, Arkansas, Martin graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1971. Dr. Martin earned his medical degree from UAMS in 1978. He completed his internship in general surgery and his residency in orthopedic surgery at UAMS in 1983. After a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery with Dr. Carl Nelson in Little Rock, he moved to Pine Bluff in 1984 where he was in private practice until relocating his practice to Little Rock in 1990.
Dr. Martin is particularly knowledgeable about sports medicine having received a football scholarship as an undergraduate to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He has served as team physician for several high schools and professional sports organizations. Dr. Martin was named one of fourteen orthopedic surgeons in Arkansas recognized in "Best Doctors in America" by his peers in Best Doctors, Inc.
