Brief Intro

Juan A. Escobales, MD received his MD degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 1971. This was followed by his Family Medicine training in Syracuse, New York through 1974. After receiving his Board Certification by the American Board of Family Physicians in 1974, he served in the United States Air Force as Chief of the Family Medicine Department at Luke Air Force Base, Glendale, Arizona. Since 1976 he has been in private practice in St. Petersburg, Florida. He has a special interest in the field of Geriatrics and is a member of the American Geriatrics Society as well as the American Medical Directors Association. He is also certified as a Physician Utilization and Quality Reviewer by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. He holds leadership positions in the community serving as a medical director of several nursing homes.
