Joshua Langert, MD, FACS, is a Board-certified general surgeon with AdventHealth Medical Group General Surgery at Shawnee Mission. He performs a wide range of procedures, with an emphasis on anti-reflux surgery, complex abdominal wall hernia reconstruction and robotic general surgery. Dr. Langert earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed his residency at The George Washington University, where he was named Surgical ICU Resident of the Year and earned a number of honors for excellence in research and in teaching. He then completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at The University of California San Diego. Prior to joining AdventHealth in 2021, Dr. Langert worked as a general surgeon at a large tertiary medical center in Kansas City where, in addition to his surgical practice, he helped launch a general surgery residency program. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. When he’s not at the office, Dr. Langert enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, going fishing and dreaming of the day when he can rekindle his love of mountain biking.
