Brief Intro

My name is Jose W. Ruiz. I was born and raised in Nicaragua. After completing my High School Education at Sales HS , I went on to College/Medical School at the Universidad de Nicaragua and graduated in 1970. I did my surgical internship at the University of Connecticut and continued there for my residency in General Surgery, as well as Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery,and Facial Plastic Surgery. I continued at University of Connecticut for two years at which time I was an Assistant Professor of Academic Medicine. In 1978 I moved to Melbourne Florida, along with my family. I had a solo practice for 22 years. In 2000 I made the decision to join MIMA. I remain in my office located at 1324 Valentine St., Melbourne, however on Tuesday mornings I am located at the MIMA office in Viera, and Thursday afternoons I am at our MIMA office in Malabar. I can be reached at (321) 725-3200 which is the number for all 3 offices. I am receiving new patients, appointments are made in a timely fashion. Aside from enjoying the practice of medicine, I like to travel, and play tennis and golf. My family consists of my wife, three grown children, two step children and 6 beautiful and bright grandchildren. I attend Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church on a regular basis.
