Dr. Chaffin is a cardiovascular thoracic surgeon with the INTEGRIS Cardiovascular Physicians at INTEGRIS Heart Hospital. He is board-certified in thoracic surgery and attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine where he completed his internship and residency.
Dr. Chaffin fulfilled a research and clinical fellowship in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery in Boston, Mass. and served as a visiting professor of surgery in Istanbul, Turkey. He has served as department chief of heart and lung transplantation for more than 10 years and is currently chief of surgery. His areas of interests are heart and lung transplantation, ventricular assist device and endovascular aneurysm repair.
Dr, Chaffin is a Vietnam veteran commemorated with the Combat Medical Badge, Bronze Star with Valor and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. He has served "Man of the Year' and "Corporate Volunteer of the Yea/' for the American Heart Association and enjoys jogging, water skiing, and restoring old cars.
