Dr. Joe Cates attended medical school at the University of Missouri School of Medicine, Kansas City. He completed residencies at the University of California at Los Angeles Medical Center and fellowships at both the University of California at Los Angeles Medical Center and the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Cates has been honored with the UMKC Award for Surgical Excellence, the UCLA Golden Heart Award, the Golden Scalpel Award, and as one of the Top Surgeons in Kansas City (The Squire). He is board-certified in vascular surgery. Dr. Cates is affiliated with Menorah Medical Center and Research Medical Center.
