James Evans, M.D., is a rheumatologist who strives to work directly with his patients to help diagnose and treat their medical problems. His personal philosophy is to spend time with each person to get to know them and better understand their medical and life situation.
Growing up in Iowa, Dr. Evans attended the University of Iowa and then went on to the University of South Dakota for medical school, developing a passion for the "diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune disease." He also believes lessons learned while "observing and learning from physician mentors early in my career" had the most impact on him.
An internal medicine residency at the University of Arizona brought Dr. Evans to Tucson. He enjoys his practice here and believes that "access to adequate health care and insurance coverage" is the biggest health risk facing Southern Arizonans today. Dr. Evans enjoys spending time with his family, and when not with his family, loves to ride his bike in the Arizona sunshine.
