Dr. Albert Redford is a Rheumatologist who strives to build open and honest relationships with patients. “I do my best to explain why I am offering the treatment I am (or lack thereof) so that the patient and I can be on the same page,” he said. “This empowers patients to ask questions, make decisions and to voice concerns when they have them.” Dr. Redford comes from a family of health care practitioners that inspired him to take a similar career path. He chose rheumatology as his specialty because of its complex nature. “Rheumatology has always fascinated me,” he said. “It is so multi-faceted that it can impact a person’s bones, muscles, joints and internal organs. Each patient’s needs and conditions are unique, and I enjoy working with them to improve their quality of life.” Dr. Redford obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Arizona State University and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency program at the University of New Mexico and a rheumatology fellowship at the University of Arizona. Originally from Phoenix, Dr. Redford moved to Tucson for training and stayed for the beautiful scenery. When he’s not working, Dr. Redford enjoys mountain biking, hiking and snowboarding.
