Dr. Garcia is dual board certified in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and in Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Eddie Garcia is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a Member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Garcia is accepting new patients, and he offers them State-of the-Art Orthopaedic care, by THE DOCTOR, in a Family Environment. He specializes in arthroscopic surgical treatment of conditions of the shoulder, knee, and hip, as well as in the non-operative treatment of conditions of these areas. Dr. Garcia graduated with honors from Harvard University in 1984. He completed his medical degree in 1988 at the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas . He completed his internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in 1989 and went on to complete his Orthopaedic Surgery residency in 1997 at the University of California San Diego Medical Center. He went on to complete his Fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at the world-renowned Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Ohio in 2001. He was the Chairman of Orthopaedics at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He proudly served as a Flight Surgeon and Staff Orthopaedic Surgeon in the U.S. Navy for 15 years, being honorably discharged from military service in 2004. Dr. Garcia is affiliated with the South Texas Spine and Surgical Hospital, the Stone Oak Methodist Hospital, and the Methodist Ambulatory Surgery Center North Central. Dr. Garcia currently accepts Medicare, and most commercial insurance plans.
