Brief Intro

I am a Thoracic Surgeon and also an associate professor of surgery at St. Luke’s University Health Network. In addition to my clinical practice caring for patients, I train our general surgery residents and developed our robotic surgery resident curriculum, designed to teach future robotic surgeons. I earned my medical degree at Jefferson Medical College and completed an internship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. I was in residency at Lankenau Hospital and completed a fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital. I specialize in robotic lung resections, foregut procedures and mediastinal masses. During my training I was fortunate to be accepted into the AATS Robotic Surgical Fellowship, in addition to my thoracic surgical fellowship. Through this program I trained with leaders in robotic thoracic surgery around the country. Additionally, I am interested in the surgical treatment of GERD (“heartburn”). I am pleased to bring the robotic LINX procedure, a new surgical technique to prevent heartburn, to St. Luke’s and our patients. Personally I enjoy the outdoors and being active. As a Colorado native, I am an avid skier and was a certified professional ski instructor at Vail in my younger days. During the warmer months I enjoy running and hiking on local trails. Most importantly I enjoy spending my free time with my wonderful wife Rachel and raising our energetic young daughter.
