Board-certified orthopedic surgeon Douglas Murphy, MD, brings over 30 years of experience to his patients at Metro Orthopedics & Sports Therapy in Potomac, Maryland. Originally from Illinois, Dr. Murphy completed his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. Since moving to Maryland in 2007, he has been involved with organized medicine at the state and county level. He was the first chief of the medical staff when Holy Cross Germantown hospital opened in 2014 and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Holy Cross Health.Dr. Murphy has extensive clinical experience in orthopedics and has been doing anterior and minimally invasive hip replacements almost exclusively since 2011.
