Dr. Seinsheimer is a graduate of Yale University and obtained his MD degree from Harvard Medical School. He underwent his General Surgical training at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston, and Orthopaedic training at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He served in the Army for two years and then took a one year fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery with Jim Hunter, MD at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. In 1989, Dr. Seinsheimer received the Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hand Surgery as a result of passing the first certification exam ever given in Hand Surgery. He has published articles in orthopaedic basic science, and clinical issues. A classification of subtrochateric fractures of the femur that he published, is currently used in most orthopaedic text books. Dr. Seinsheimer has a special interest in carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren's contracture and arthritis surgery. He has a lifelong interest in martial arts and has black belts in Tae Kwon Do, Aikido and Jiu Jitsu. His wife works as the hand therapist for GWOG. They have worked as a team providing hand surgery and hand therapy for over 25 years.
