Dr. Kyle Hogarth is an expert in pulmonary diseases--including alpha-1 antitrypsin (AAT) deficiency and sarcoidosis. He is also involved with the minimally invasive diagnosis and staging of lung cancer through bronchoscopy. Dr. Hogarth was one of the first doctors in Illinois to work with the superDimension/InReach System--an electromagnetic navigation system that uses 3-D imaging technology to detect and biopsy lung cancer. He sees patients two days a week in clinic. Dr. Hogarth's research focuses on improving quality of life and outcomes for patients with AAT defiency, sarcoidosis and lung cancer. He is an investigator in numerous clinical trials for these diseases,In 2007, he received the Department of Medicines Outstanding Junior Faculty Clinical Service Award. In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Hogarth is a manuscript reviewer for Chest--The Journal of the American College of Chest Physicians, Proceedings of the American Thoracic Society, European Respiratory Journal, Lung Cancer and Respiratory Research.
