Brief Intro

Dr. Don C. Kalant, Sr. received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Illinois. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loyola University. He served his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center and Hines V.A. Medical Center. In addition to his private practice Dr. Kalant holds a position of assistant clinical professor in the Section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center, where he is actively involved in resident education. He previously held the position of Assistant Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Hines V.A. Medical Center. Dr. Kalant is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has received Fellowship status in both the American and International Colleges of Dentists. He is also a member of both the Illinois and Chicago Societies for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. An active member of the American Dental Association, as well as the Illinois and Chicago Dental Societies, he has been a member of numerous committees and is past president of the West Suburban Branch of the Chicago Dental Society. As a published author and lecturer on the subject of dental implantology, Dr. Kalant holds an Active Membership in the International Society of Oral Implantologists, and the Academy of Osseointegration. He is also certified by the American College of Surgeons in Advanced Trauma Life Support, by the American Heart Association in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and is an Instructor in Basic Life Support. His area of significant interest and expertise are dental implantology, orthognathic surgery (correction of jaw deformities) and surgical management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.
