David Benson, DMD
Where
did you go to school?
After
graduating from Palm Beach Gardens High School, I attended North
Park University in Chicago due to my family's long-standing history
of attendance there. I was then accepted at Loyola University
School of Dentistry. Two years into their dental program,
Loyola closed, so I completed a six-year total program and received
my DMD degree at the University of Florida School of Dentistry. In
2001 I was honored to earn a Fellowship degree from the Academy
of General Dentistry. Attaining Fellowship is a rigorous
process that requires three years of membership in the Academy
as well as passing an examination. My education does not
end there however as I constantly take continuing education courses
so I'll be able to provide my patients with the best and most
current care available.
Why
did you choose dentistry?
It is
very satisfying to relieve patients pain, and even more important,
to be able to alleviate any fear of dentistry they may have. I
believe there is more to my patients than just their teeth. To
be able to connect with them at that level and give their dental
health back to them and beautiful smiles as well I find to be
a very rewarding challenge!
Are
you a member of any professional organizations?
Yes. I
belong to the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental
Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Christian
Dental Association, and the Atlantic Coast Dental Association. I
am also the dental director of Samaritan Gardens Community Health
Center in West Palm Beach that provides care for those in need
in Palm Beach County.Â
