David H. Watt, M.D. graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School. He completed an internship and a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Illinois Hospital and Affiliates.
In private orthopaedic practice in DuPage County since 1985, Dr. Watt joined OAD Orthopaedics in 1990. Dr. Watt is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the care of shoulder and knee problems, and orthopaedic sports medicine. He specializes in arthroscopy, total and reverse shoulder replacement, and knee replacement.
Dr. Watt competed at the national level in collegiate gymnastics and remains active in triathlons, racquetball, snowboarding, mountain biking and scuba diving. He serves as team physician for Wheaton North High School and Wheaton College, where he also teaches as an adjunct faculty member in the college's Applied Health Science Department.
Dr. Watt is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with a Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
