An internationally known expert in vascular surgery, Darwin Eton, MD, has broad operative experience, especially in the most complex vascular procedures. Throughout his career, Dr. Eton has contributed to the rapid evolution of vascular care, using the newest, state-of-the-art technology while working to reduce risks and improve outcomes. Dr. Eton has a strong interest in limb salvage strategies for elderly and fragile patients with critical limb ischemia (insufficient blood supply to the extremities, particularly common in patients with diabetes). He is currently investigating a non-invasive, outpatient approach to treating this condition. A popular speaker, Dr. Eton has been an invited lecturer and keynote speaker at universities, hospitals and surgical meetings around the world. He has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals, as well as several book chapters.
