Dr. Ballard graduated from Johns Hopkins University and received his medical degree from Loyola University. He completed his internal medicine training at the University of Michigan and his gastroenterology fellowship at Indiana University. He further completed subspecialty training in advanced and therapeutic endoscopy at the Medical College of Wisconsin where he remained on faculty as assistant professor before returning home to join South Suburban Gastroenterology and GI Partners. Dr. Ballard has had numerous publications, abstracts and presentations in a variety of journals and at national gastroenterology meetings. His expertise includes all aspects of GI practice including endoscopy and colonoscopy, and particularly within biliary and pancreatic disease including EUS and ERCP, Barrett’s esophagus including radiofrequency ablation, and complex colonoscopy.
