He completed his Internship at Orlando Regional Medical Center and his Residency at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. Dr. Heinig returned to Florida after his residency and taught as an Associate Clinical Professor for the University of South Florida for 2 years before going into private practice. Dr. Heinig has been in practice for 18 years. He was awarded "Physician of the Year" in 2005 by Gulfside Regional Hospice of Pasco.
