Dr. Jackson did his undergraduate studies in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and received his medical degree in 1974 from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. After his internship at University Hospital in Saskatoon he worked as a general practitioner in Mackenzie, British Columbia for three years. He then completed his General Surgery residency at Oregon Health & Science University as well as an American Cancer Society Surgical Oncology Fellowship. Dr. Jackson has a special interest in lung cancer surgery. He recently became certified in the treatment of tumors with Cyberknife. He has served as a trauma and general surgeon in Vancouver since 1983. Dr. Jackson also has a special interest in Endoscopic Carpal tunnel release using the mini-incision video technique and has extensive experience with this. His interests include sailing, skiing, and amateur and semi-professional auto racing, primarily with the Sports Car Club of America. He has won many championships and is interested in the medical and safety aspects of auto racing.
