Dr Jurbala was born and raised in Scranton, PA. He graduated from Penn State University where he studied Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering and went on to earn his medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. After completing his training in Orthopedic Surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center, Dr. Jurbala was awarded and completed fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.
Dr. Jurbala Founded the Highland Center for Orthopedics in Lakeland, Florida in 2002. They have offices in Lakeland and Lake Wales, Florida.
Dr Jurbala has an extremely busy practice and has help from two Physician Assistants in order to better serve and spend more time with his patients that need it most. Our Physician's assistants are specifically trained in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine and will sometimes perform the initial workup of patient coming into the clinic (under Dr Jurbala's close supervision). If, at any time, a patient wishes to see Dr Jurbala only, this can be arranged by making it known to the receptionist at the time of making the appointment. All surgical procedures are performed by Dr Jurbala only. We specialize in minimally invasive and arthroscopic procedures of the knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.
Dr Jurbala is the founder and Chief Designing Surgeon of SonicSurg Innovations, LLC, a medical device company that develops techniques and instruments for office based hand surgical procedures. Their first instrument, the Trigger Tome is a minimally invasive, no-stich, percutaneous trigger finger release device designed to reduce the pain and recovery time associated with treatment of Trigger Finger. In many cases the procedure can be performed in the office greatly reducing the time required and expense for the patient.
Dr Jurbala and his wife and daughter reside in Central Florida and enjoy spending time together fishing on the Gulf of Mexico.
