Dr. Brian Berman is Professor of Dermatology and Internal Medicine at The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He received M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from New York University as well as completing residency training in Dermatology and NIH Immunodermatology Fellowship. He is a former Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida, is past President and Founder of The National Association of Veterans Affairs Dermatologists, is Associate Editor of The European Journal of Dermatology , is an Editor of the journals Cosmetic Dermatology and SkinMed , is Senior Consultant for University of Miami's Teledermatology Consultation Service, and is on the expert panel for the Food and Drug Administration.
In addition to his faculty clinical practice and serving as Medical Director of the JMH Dermatology in-patient consultation service and out-patient clinics, Dr. Berman directs a broad-based clinical research program and Fellowship, primarily focusing on the study of the control of scarring. He has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed scientific and clinical articles, chapters and books, has lectured extensively nationally and internationally, is the recipient of the University of Miami Dean's Senior Faculty Clinical Research Award, was bestowed the "Scientist of the Year" Award from Sigma Xi and is included among "The Best Doctors in America."
