Arthur Allen, MD, founded Neurology Consultants, Chtd., now Shawnee Mission Neurology Consultants, in 1979 with Michael Ryan, MD. Allen earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas. As a postgraduate, he fulfilled his rotating internship at Los Angeles County - University of Southern California Medical Center. He completed both his Internal Medicine and Neurology residencies at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. Between residencies, Dr. Allen served two years in the United States Air Force as an Internist. Allen currently serves as the Medical Director of the Stroke Center at St. Joseph Medical Center. He is a member of the American Medical Association, The American Academy of Neurology, past president of both the Kansas City Neurologic Society and of The Medical Staff of St. Joseph Medical Center, among many other professional organizations. Dr. Allen continues to earn Ingram's Business Magazine's Kansas City's Top Docs award and has been honored by the Southwest Clinical Society as past President and Director of Clinics. Allen thoroughly enjoys the clinical nature of neurology. He uses his expert knowledge and skill, along with his exceptional bedside manner to diagnose and care for his patients.
