Alfonso Tolentino, M.D. is co-director of the electrocardiology laboratory for the Columbia University Division of Cardiology at Mount Sinai Heart Institute. He is also an assistant professor at the Columbia University Division of Cardiology.
Board-certified in cardiology and internal medicine, Dr. Tolentino has 45 years of experience treating patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. He specializes in the treatment of myocardial infarction (heart attack), cardiomyopathy, cardiac arrhythmia, congestive heart failure, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and peripheral vascular disease. Dr. Tolentino is also skilled in administering and interpreting cardiac stress tests to assess cardiovascular function.
A graduate of the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City, Philippines, Dr. Tolentino completed his residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Philadelphia and a fellowship in cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Tolentino is a fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and American College of Physicians. He is also the chair of the Pharmacy Committee at Mount Sinai Medical Center, and has been a clinical instructor with Mount Sinai's cardiology fellowship program for over 35 years.
Dr. Tolentino is fluent in English and Tagalog.
