What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider?
I enjoy helping people achieve their optimal health and working with them as a team. I believe everyone has the ability to feel their best in mind, spirit, and physical body with the proper coaching and treatment approach.
In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
The PCP is a guide and educator for the patient. We can make recommendations and prescribe treatments but the patient is the leader and shared decision-making is crucial for an effective treatment plan. I use motivational interviewing strategies to help patients take control of their health and move toward becoming the best version of themselves.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I have an 11-year-old daughter, a husband, and 2 cats. I enjoy hiking and being outside. I do pilates and yoga several days per week.
